Responsibilities

A rota nanny is responsible for: 

Daily Routines: Overseeing the children’s routines, including feeding, dressing, bathing, and bedtime. 

Educational Development: Engaging in age-appropriate educational activities, helping with homework, and encouraging developmental milestones. 

Organising Activities: Planning outings, playdates, and creative play to foster social and physical development. 

Household Duties Related to the Children: Maintaining cleanliness in children’s areas, doing their laundry, and managing their belongings. 

Travel Support: Accompanying the family on trips and adapting routines to different time zones or environments. 

Health & Safety: Administering first aid if necessary, monitoring children’s well-being, and ensuring a safe environment. 

Working Hours

Rota nannies typically work in shifts, which may include: 

1 Week On / 1 Week Off 

2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off 

1 Month On/ 1Month Off 

During their on-duty periods, rota nannies are generally available 24/7 but will have designated times for rest within the schedule. While off-duty, they are entirely free from responsibilities, allowing for substantial personal time. 

Salary

Salaries for rota nannies in the UK can vary depending on experience, qualifications, and the specifics of the role. Generally, rota nannies earn: 

£50,000 to £80,000+ per year, depending on the family's requirements and the nanny's expertise.
