Holiday Nanny

A holiday nanny is a professional hired to accompany families during holidays or travel. Their role is to ensure that children are well cared for while the family is on holiday, allowing parents to relax and enjoy their time away. Holiday nannies travel with the family. They provide flexible, high-quality childcare throughout the trip.

HOLIDAY NANNY

Responsibilities

- Full-Time Childcare: Providing round-the-clock care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and supervising children during the holiday.

-Organising Activities: Planning and engaging children in holiday-appropriate activities, such as outings, beach trips, games, and local cultural experiences.

-Travel Assistance: Helping with travel logistics, including packing for the children, airport support, and ensuring the children are comfortable and entertained during flights or long journeys.

- Routine Maintenance: Keeping children’s routines intact, such as meal times, naps, and bedtimes, even while on holiday.

  • - Safety and Supervision: Ensuring the children's safety at all times, particularly in unfamiliar environments, such as pools, beaches, or new cities.

- Flexibility: Offering flexible care to meet the family’s needs, including evening babysitting or managing the children while parents enjoy excursions or events.

Working Hours

A holiday nanny’s working hours are often longer and more flexible than a standard nanny's due to the nature of the job.

They are typically available for 10 to 12 hours per day, but may be expected to work additional hours, including evening and overnight care, depending on the family’s requirements.

Rest periods and breaks should be agreed upon in advance, as the nanny may be on call throughout the day and night.

Salary

The salary of a holiday nanny varies depending on their experience, the destination, and the specific duties required. Typically:

Daily Rates: Holiday nannies earn between £200 and £300 per day for standard care. For more experienced nannies or those working with multiple children, the rate can increase to £350+ per day.

Weekly Rates: For week-long trips, holiday nannies can earn between £1,200 and £2,000+ per week, depending on their experience, the hours worked, and the complexity of the job.
